Deb’s Mission:
I work with authors to make their words soar and with publishers to help those books fly off the shelves.
Deb’s Background:
For over thirty years, I’ve been writing stories about my experiences. I’ve been published in over twenty books with fifty-plus articles to my credit. I’ve been on the staff at several Christian writers’ conferences including Glorieta, Florida, and the CLASSeminars. I have an MBA and a BA in English. I worked in corporate America for fifteen years and have spoken to groups large and small nationally.
I edit for Elk Lake Publishing, Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas (Bling! and Firefly Southern Fiction imprints) and EA Books Publishing along with individually contracted projects. Not merely a proofer, I work with my authors in a collaborative fashion to make their works the best they possibly can be before they are published.
Deb’s Client Recommendations:
“Deb is quick, efficient, and a joy to work with!” (R. J. Larson, author of Exiles and Queen)
“If you’ve written a good book, Deb is the editor you hire to make it great.” (James Shupp, author of Who Killed My Church)
“Deb takes a personal interest in the success of the author and book, offering content suggestions beyond the normal editorial services that enhance the reader’s experience and understanding. I don’t ever want to publish another book without Deb being my editor.” (Pamela Christian, author of Renew Your Hope: Remedy for Personal Breakthroughs)
“Thank you, thank you, thank you. Fabulous edits. And you seem to get where I am coming from with my words.” (Life Coach Toby Quirk)
“I have engaged Deb Haggerty for several editing projects and I have found her work to be thorough and tailored to my author/client needs. Deb’s attitude toward the project is positive, engaging, and extremely helpful. Her goal is to make every project better. She also asks good questions which help both the publisher and the author improve their work and, ultimately, the reader’s overall experience with the book.” (Wayne Hastings, The Wayne Hastings Company)
