Deb’s Dozen: Spontaneous Charity Auction Bid Yields A Dream for Love – Happily Ever After!
Laurel Simmons was stunned. Her sister, obviously out of her mind, had just bid on and won a week’s vacation for two at actor Ryan Crandall’s beach house on Martha’s Vineyard. And then, Tammy announced she was giving the “dream” vacation to Laurel for an early birthday present.
Laurel sputters and protests, but a month later, she and her daughter, Gracie, a precocious four-year-old, arrive at the home for their week on the beach. The house and its view are spectacular, the service stupendous, and they settle in to enjoy the windfall.
Then Ryan Crandall, rude and insufferable, arrives to turn the dream into a nightmare. He wants them gone; they want nothing to do with him. But, fate interferes, and they are stuck with each other for the week.
Laurel has a past and a secret she will do anything to keep to ensure Gracie’s and her safety. Ryan has a past reputation of wine and women—he’s here to escape the latest scandal. Can they both win? Will circumstances arrange A Dream for Love or A Dreadful Nightmare for them all?
A Dream for Love is the first book in Lisa Belcastro’s Possible Dreams series. If the rest of the books are as good as this one, she has a hit series on her hands. I loved the book and the characters. Gracie is delightful and Laurel’s sister, Tammy, is a hoot. Laurel and Ryan will grow on you as the book progresses. Almost as charming as the story and the characters is the setting: Belcastro lives on the Vineyard and obviously loves her home island. I found myself wanting to visit to sample the delicacies and the scenery. Light and breezy with a tinge of mystery and drama, A Dream for Love (Possible Dreams Book 1) (Click link to purchase) is well worth five stars.
Lisa Belcastro is an award-winning author who does live on Martha’s Vineyard, the setting for her Winds of Change series and for the Possible Dreams series. A Dream for Love is Lisa’s fifth novel. Her debut novel, Shenandoah Nights, won the Christian Small Publisher’s Association’s (CSPA) Romance Book of the Year Award in 2014. Shenandoah Dreams, her third book, also won the CSPA Romance Book of the Year in 2015. Shenandoah Christmas, a novella, won the SELAH Award in its category in 2015. All of her books have been nominated for awards—she’s that good!
Lisa loves time with her family and friends, running, outdoor activities, cooking, her cat, Ben, and travel.
